This is my first blog post ... well, my first regular blog post. I now have a team of people holding me accountable. That is like having a running buddy. Love/hate kinda thing. But I digress for now. Blogging is like anything - you just have to get started. I actually love to write and enjoy reaching out and connecting with those of like mind. So, this is a good thing. Expect from my blogs to hear from my heart. I want to cover topics that concern women-specific issues in cycling and fitness. I love the fashion so that will be an area of coverage. We will discuss bikes - all kinds as well as fun and functional accessories. Feel free to let me know if there is a topic you would like covered by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
For those of you that have been following the "Life and Times of Pedal Chic", you know our latest chapter has been surviving a major catastrophe. Our shop flooded during a rain storm due to roof damage. You can read the whole story on page 34 in Fete Magazine at http://emag.fetegreenville.com/. As of today, we have been closed for two weeks and it has been one of the most difficult experiences of my entire life. So many emotions in such a short period of time - shock, disbelief, terror, hopelessness - then hope, excitement and belief. Real rollercoaster. Real Life. The good news is that we are getting through this. Pedal Chic is being rebuilt and we will be stronger and better than ever. Strength and character are built and become evident in times of trial. I hope that during this unbelievable experience I have been able to display both...and I thank all our friends, family and customers for hanging in there with us.
We don't have a date yet for our re-opening, however, the tide is beginning to turn. We are working out of a local coffee shop (shout out to Coffee To A Tea) in downtown Greenville where we can get wifi and work on our online store and shop details. Someday we will look back on this and laugh, right? Or at least see and appreciate the love, support, friendship and community that has gotten me through each day.
Thank you. I am very blessed. And cannot WAIT to have our grand re-opening soon!!
