Pedal Chic, a women-specific cycling shop and boutique in Greenville, was recently honored as “The Best Bike Shop for Women” in the nation.
In receiving the BRAINy award, sponsored by Bicycle Retailer and Industry News, Pedal Chic’s founder, Robin Bylenga, was recognized for her efforts and achievements in “creating a vibrant and nurturing business that supports and inspires women to enjoy the benefits of cycling and fitness,” an announcement said.
“Winning a 2012 BRAINy award is an honor and an inspiration for Pedal Chic,” Bylenga said. “The market for women’s cycling holds unlimited potential. It was a niche we were passionate about, that we studied carefully, and that we were determined to fill. What started as a dream to inspire women to get active and rediscover the joy of fitness through cycling has grown into a movement. We’re proud to be on the forefront of empowering women by combining fitness and fashion along with re-discovering the unique freedom of riding a bike.”
Pedal Chic, located in West End Greenville, is fully staffed by women, including the service engineer/mechanic, Robin Rousselle, known as “R2”.
